I've just got the dreaded letter from the CSA with the form to fill in. Now I am selfemployed but due to personal problems I haven't been earning much. Luckly my wife has a job and pays some of the household bills. My accounts for 2007 show income of £3864 and for 2008 £3739, this is not made up it is true. For 2009 I will have earnt less than £4000 for the year. January 2009 I owed £15000 to credit cards and a kind relative of mine lent me the money to clear those debt. However because in 2009 I earnt far less money than it cost to pay all my household bills I now owe £8000 again.
What will the CSA want to take from me as I am basically a househusband that earns less than £4000 per year.

I wouldn't worry too much, my ex-husband started his own business, produced his accounts to the CSA and I was told he didn't earn enough so he got away with paying nothing at all.

Oh I forgot to say, the CSA aren't interested in how much your outgoings are or what you owe or whether you can afford to eat that day. They really are ruthless but if you can provide accounts for the small amounts as you say, you should be okay.

Stressed?...I can not stress enough how anyone dealing with the CSA must NEVER EVER chat by telephone, down the line how are you going to prove any agreements? dont do it insist on written correspondence only.
