Hi, Can anyone tell what a tribunal is like? I think I have a strong case and can't see why it has gone this far or how my ex can win! He has questioned the NVQ level of the course his daughter is on. I have provided evidence many times that it is NVQ 3 Further Education, I get child benefit and she gets EMA. I can afford to take anybody from the legal profession would this be a problem? I may not have anyone to attend with me it'll be the first time for years that I have seen him and he'll probably have his new wife there and I know I will be emotional and a bit intimidated.(stirs up old memories). Any advise appreciated
    Cheers

Is a level 3 higher than "A" level? As the csa stop taking payments for children who study higher than an "A" level so maybe your ex is using this as his ball game - if you can prove your case to the csa then they should be able to enforce payments from your Ex - I have never been to a tribunal I didn't know the csa did them - hope this helps

Hi ,I have been to two tribunals with my x husband, The first I employed someone from Child Support Services to represent me, and he was very good but it cost me 1500 money I couldnt realy afford, So on the second one I represented myself. You are allowed a representative in with you it doesnt matter who they are such as a solicitor partner mistress etc . I had my Partner with me for the last hearing and I was able to say what I needed to. There was a big table with a judge, a financial expert and someone from the CSA there and on the other side was my x husband his mistress and then my partner and myself. I was told that the mud slinging and the allegations that my x had made were irrelivent but it did upset me to hear he was saying that he even fed my son (from another relationship) something he had never done so I made sure i was able to question him and make a point of showing him to be a liar. Its not the time for mud slinging but if you keep your cool things should go ok. Dont be fooled into thinking that if you win the case you will get any money as Ive won my case twise and still not getting anywhere, The rights to appeal have been taken every step of the way but the good thing is you can also do the same. Look up on facebook my group Child support agency the law and its failings for support from people going through the same thing .
Good luck chin up and keep smiling it will make him wonder why !
