    Hi there,

I have had a running battle with the CSA for the last few years and as I see everyone else on here is having the same problems.

I have a wee girl from a one night stand so the relationship with her mother has always been difficult and she went to the CSA from the start which means im on the old set of rules and its killing me finacially.

I went to uni and eventually got a job once I finished and told the CSA straight away and they asked for 3 pay slips but wouldnt give me a figure based on my earnings so I had no clue what I was going to be paying. It turned out to be £90 per week and it got back dated almost 6 months which meant I was over £2000 in arrears!! I was completely shocked and sadened by the amount I had to pay so appealed this figure. It got knocked back as I was staying with my parents. I dont even have £90 to spend on myself and still have to afford petrol to get to work!!!

When I was seeing my wee girl things were no great but civil between her mother and me and then my wee girl started wearing clothes and shoes with holes in them!! I questioned what my money was getting spent on and basically from there things went so wrong. I now dont see my wee one anymore due to her mothers behaviour.

I wanted to reduce this payment as I could clearly see the money wasnt getting spent on the wee one. So I moved into my own place, thinking my payments would get reduced, but my payments got reduced by £12 to £78 a week but cause of my arrears im still paying £411 per month and £74 is of the arrears. I have 11 months to go to pay the arrears off but I have recently had a pay rise and dont want to get things back dated and get more arrears but Im totally struggling to make ends meet as it is. Should I say to the CSA about my rise or wait till they ask for pay slips?

Any help on any ways to reduce payments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

tell them sweet FA. and never ever do business with them by phone. If you earn any money over and above your assesment they take a cut to add to the treasury are you aware of that? play the game as they do tell them you did write to them no need for proof they do not record delivery so why would you?

Every time you speak to the csa on the phone all calls are recorded and you have the right to have a copy of that call

sorry Ron Mac but I have written proof that is not the case. After many many telephone calls in the mid-late 90's I am ever astonished to hear from the CSA they have no eveidence of me ever telephoning the agency so if you have any proof contrary bang it down in writing so I can copy it and quote you please :-)
