Hi there, im looking for some help regarding my ex. He is currently being investigated by the csa over his ex wife but not 100 percent what for. So far he has not paid anything for our daughter 14 months old, he offered to set up a private agreement of 10 pounds a week which i agreed to as he previously threatened that if i went to csa he would make sure i get nothing. However he never actually gave me anything and i did open a csa account.

The problem is he is self employed and also saying he is going to make his business a LTD company. I know that he earns about 400 a day (up to 2000 a week!) for 6 months of the year (his work is seasonal although in summer he does still have dribs and drabs) Much of this is recieved cash in hand which he does not declare. He keeps two diaries, one with his real work in and one that matches his accounts as he doesnt declare all his earnings. The problem is he is paying himself a wage of £200 per week... even though he is earning upto £2000. He has three properties, two rented out and another flat that can be rented aswell plus his own house. What is this going to mean for my CSA? I dont want to take all his money or anything i would just like a little bit of help with our daughters upbringing but he's told me he will make sure his ex gets £5 quid a week for each of her two children and me too. dont feel like this is fair concidering he's buying luxuray items with the cash in hand stuff he keeps in his house and grudges helping me with our daughter. What can CSA do? So far they've done zero!

Apply for a variation for ownership of assets. Ring the CSA and ask them to send you the form.

It will help if you have information of the properties he owns.

If he converts to a LTD company you can ask for a variation for that as well as he may pay himself mainly in dividends with a small wage.

Let me know if you need any other information.

Great thanks, i will see if i can get it. Will it matter that the houses are owned jointly with his ex wife? They have been unable to sell because they are negative equity although he does claim all the rents for them.

    Thanks again :)

If his houses are in negative equity then he's clearly paying a mortgage on them, and any money he takes from rent may well be offset against any mortgage - so he might not actually be getting a single penny in profit from them, regardless of the situation with his ex-wife.

I have a house that I rent out, and I'm in negative equity so can't sell, and my interest only mortgage isn't even covered by the rental income so my 'rented house' actually costs me money each month, rather than earns anything. Owning properties and renting them out doesn't necessarily mean that you're earning profit.

If I could give my house away and pay nothing more on it I would, yet to my ex-wife (and the CSA) it seems at first glance as though I'm one of those rich landlords owning property and making stacks in rental income. Truth couldn't be further away from that perception.
