    Hello All,
I am already paying £300 to my enstranged wife by mutual agreement.
i am in a process of a Divorce.
I work away 190 miles from my daughter of 6, when i travel average 2 weekends a month to pick her up it is averageing £100 on fuel, i then have to take her another 34 mile to my parents.
As any father would do i spend on her food and clothing and luxuries whilst i have her.
I am in a decent paid job, but the ex has lefy me paying a lot of gambling debts and a mutual high loan.
I know credit cards arn't took into consideration, but the loan is £350 a month up to August next year.
Apart from having my daughter at them weekends i have her 2 weeks easter 2 weeks summer and mixed 2 weeks Xmas.
Unfortinately the £300 i pay to the ex direct is spent straight away on gambling, drugs and alcohol, this is just not speculation,as my job enables me to find this out.
My daughter has not had any new clothes bought with that money for a long time, and i had to force the ex to buy new school clothes that fitted her.
Please is there any entitlements available if i go to the CSA to make my payments?
Would i be better off financially through the CSA?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Grommit

If you have a look on the CSA website there is a calculator which will give you an estimate of what you would pay. It is based on income, any children who are living with you and the number of nights the child in the case stops with you (known as shared care.)

If you are paying for a loan, then you can apply for a variation which will lower what you pay. You can also apply for a variation for the cost of seeing your child, but only if you are not claiming for shared care.

Thank you so much for your kind reply.
I am hoping to apply to the CSA once my divorce is through, as I don't wish to upset the aple cart so to say!
I used the calculator and without the variations etc I came up with £250 a month!
Even amongst my friends who actually receive CSA there are mixed views, some say paying the CSA is a rip off! I just don't know.
But at the end of the day the welfare of my daughter is paramount.
    Many thanks again.

hi grommit not sure if you know but if you have your child more than 104 nights a year it is classed as joint custardy and the money you pay for petrol is taken in to account on your assesment and you will pay nothing like me which lets you spoil her with the money she would get hope this helps
