paying for dna test

    can the csa make you pay for a dna test when you dont work? im asking for someone who is disputing parentage and has had a form asking for the money to pay for the dna test...he has 2 kids already and another on the way so cannot afford it......does he have any rights or is he stuffed?

    Yes - he will have to pay eventually. Basically, if you cannot pay at the time (my partner was on job seekers allowance) the CSA pay it for you and once back in work your friend will have to pay them back. There is no way around it, if your friend refuses to take a DNA test then it is automatically assumed he his the father anyway and they will take the minimum £5 out of his job seekers allowence which is a joke in itself as what you get from JSA is supposed to be the very mimimum you are supposed to survive on but hey when it comes to the CSA they have their own rules! I wish your mate luck.
