im a parent with care with 2 children.i have moved to Egypt last year. i had a private agreement with the kids father until he started to mess about ,i applied for csa online and gave them my old house address .the csa notified him and he tried to stop it by saying im not in the country then they said no cause I"ve claimed income support and child allowance during the last year i meet the criteria, they will collect my first payment on the 3rd of august. he again said he contacted hm customs and benefit agency to tell them im not in the uk and the investigation is going and they gonna stop it. my question is can he really stop the payments? even after the csa decided it can go on? can hm customs or benefit agency stop the payments like he says?

(I think the board ate my answer).

How long are you going to be living in Egypt, do you intend to stay there permanently? It's a bit of a grey area, technically the CSA can only deal with cases where the clients are habitually resident in the UK, they don't have jurisdiction elsewhere, so if you have moved to Egypt and are going to live there forever then there's a good chance that the CSA will close the case.

if you are not living in the uk you are not entitled to use the child support agency. do the right thing and call them and close the case.

Agreed with the other posts. If you are living in Egypt then you should not be claiming through the CSA or indeed child benefit.
Unless you can prove it is just a visit to Egypt then youneed to be careful are you are being fraudulent in still cliaming child benefit.
Do the decent thing and close the case. The CSA will only inflame the situation.

This is a similar thing to me.

My babies mother is from Venzuela. I signed a form to allow her to take the baby there for the whole of summer 2010 (no specific dates were on the letter i signed)

The mother left in July, but still has not come back. She has sent me the odd email here and there but has said they are having Visa problems so cant come back yet.

    Does that sound normal?

    Hi accesspwd1,

This does not sound good. They clearly had Visa's to get out there, so there should not be a problem returning. It is difficult to comment further without knowing if you have shared care etc through the courts.
I would check up with british consulate etc to see if there are any issues in Venezuela at present. Do not just sit back and hope. Secondly, contact the authorities in the UK expressing your concern at her behaviour.
Third, never sign a document again without clear agreement on dates, adresses on where the children will be staying etc.
Finally, be ready to go out there yourself if you need to.

    Good Luck

    Thank you LondonPride,

I have never had care, she would never allow that

I did visit a solicitor at one point but that soon stopped after i couldnt afford it.

I have had more emails off her and she is telling me that shes has to register her other daughter as a UK citizen. (her other daughter was born in Venzuela, but has lived in the UK since) and all of a sudden this problem has apparantly occured.

Her new husband has to apparantly register too to be a UK Citizen.

I phoned the police and to be honest they didnt have a clue what to do and told me to phone the Venzuelian Consulate. Which i did and they cant speak hardly any English.

Very difficult to explain to be honest, and a bad situation to be in
