If you need any help with the CSA please feel contact me. I am a retired independent financial advisor who worked in a solicitors firm. I have battled with the CSA for eight years. They are hopeless and invariably wrong!
I had to go down the tribunal route to sort out under the old rules but lots of things I have found out along the way!!!!!!!!!!

hi dont know if you can help me but here goes its worth a shot, had a one night stand 16 years ago was willing to help finacially but was told i was not wanted as a permanant fixture in my twin daughters life and not to contact them again they are a very well known wealthy family in my area so probably didnt want the scandal anyway fast forward 15 years im now maried with 2 other children and happily ploding along for past 10 years when out of the blue i receive a csa letter to pay for my daughters not a problem rang csa and set payments up then contacted by the mother saying i could now see my daughters as long as i paid first?! she had been living with a wealthy older man at the other end of the country for past 15 years and he had now left her so with her new medically enhanced figure the offer of my twins thought that i would obviously leave my wife and children and run off into the sunset with her!!??? not going to happen and told her that even though i have an obligation to pay for my daughters i do not have to support her i have had no contact with my daughters for the past 6 months due to me having to move to a cheaper home as was experiancing financial problems due to csa payments and not being able to pay csa for 2 months i rang csa to set up extra payments to catch up with arrears and have since been told by twins mother that unless i pay in full i wont be seeing my daughters and that although she does not need any financial help towards my daughters that she will continue to claim it until i see sense and realize i would have a better life with her and my twins i am know getting deeper into debt and struggling to support my 2 children who live with me csa want 292 a month for arrears even though i cant afford it they say if i dont pay that they will take full amount out of my wages regardless of weather it leaves me enough to live on so effectivly i could end up homeless or with bailiffs at my door csa dont seems to care about the children in my home as long as children with pwc get money how can someone just turn up after 15 years and be able to claim so easily without any explanation of why she has never claimed before there should be a cut of point of how many years you can claim csa once you are a single parent and how can i get csa to reduce my payments so i am able to provide for ALL 4 of my children regardless of who they live with? how can csa decide that the children that live with pwc should be better off than my 2 children in my house its disgusting

A claim for maintenance starts when the CSA advise the NRP that an application has been submitted, no backdating.
Maintenence for two children is 20% of your take home pay ie after tax, NI and pension contributions.
There is a reduction on the 20% because you have 2 children with your new partner.
The ex is out to screw you financially, not much you can do except check the calcs are correct or jack the job.

i did threaten that to csa as i was struggling i was then told "well you get tax credits and child benefit to feed your children who live with you" i have since been through my paper work and it states that my weekly liability is 45.00 per week but if i pay monthly its 196.36 so on the whole i would be paying less if i were to change my payments to weekly do you think this would be a good idea or do i stick to monthly also i have been told my arrears have to be paid over 12 months?? is this right or can i request that they take my arrears over 2 years any help is appriciated

£45/week is £2340/year or £195/month. I believe you can negotiate repayments. Your proposal of £50 would take 22 months to pay off. Start paying something and they may back off.

hi thanks for reply im probably better keeping it at monthly (im not very good at working figures out) spoke to them yesterday about the amount there charging with the arrears and mentioned id done some investigating and found that i am entitled to negotiate repayments with a possibility of paying over 2 years cue a lot of stuttering and asked where i had got my information from told them i would prefer not to say but was i right in my thinking that the repayments they are expecting are too high and i have the option of lowering them to a more affordable payment so as not to get in any more debt as i only actually owe 5 and a half months csa then seemed very willing to help me and agreed that repayments are extremely high and said they would look into it and get my payments reduced to a more affordable one they are ringing me back tonight with a new figure i am going to request it is sent to me in writing before i give my bank details to them

I would advise aginst giving them your bank details. Once aDirect Debit is set up, they can take any amount they wish from your account and very often to not warn you.
Just send a cheque each month, the CSA won't like it, but you retain control of your account.
