I'm about to be moving home, in around the next 3 months and I'm really worried about contacting the CSA to advise them of my new address.

I'm a NRP and the PWC lives in another part of the country and we've not seen or spoken to each other for 10 years, if I write a letter to the CSA simply advising them of my new address, is this going to trigger a re-assessment?

I've recently had a pay rise in my job which makes paying child support a little more comfortable and the last thing I need is to be re-assessed.

Other options I've looked at is redirecting my mail with the Post Office but you can only do this for 2 years.

Anyone had to inform the CSA of a change of address?

There will only be a reassessment if the PWC asks for it, or if you volunteer information about your pay rise. A change of address is just a routine matter of updating the CSA's records.

They will definately reassess you and be on your back, believe me we know it has just happened to my partner and they are trying to cripple us, don't tell them, they are a set of heartless incompetent idiots with no compassion for anyone, there is no point telling them the truth they will only punish you, good luck

I completely disagree with this advice as to do so would be opening yourself up for a world of hurt and grief if and when the CSA trace you.

As was highlighted earlier a COA will not trigger a reassessment alone, that must be done by eather the PWC or the NRP when they believe that there has been a change in financial circumstances. This is when it happens as the PWC normally hears of the NRP moving, believes there circumstances have changed and asks for a reassessment.

If this where to happen in your case then they would have no forwarding address for you so you would build up arrears, have a DOE attached and possibly fined £1000 for not imforming them of your COA.

Be rest assured I am no fan of the CSA but you must 'play' by the rules as not to do so will cause you and your immediate family grief in the long run. Best of luck
