I have a 4 year old son and his Father doesn't pay nothing for him unless we ask him, My partner who I am with now pays for EVERYTHING for me and my son, even tho I still get my benefit money.

my ex partner comes and see's his son once every three weeks from Friday 2.30-4.30 to the sunday 2.30-4.30. So he is only really spending 1 day with my son and he seems to think it is acceptable... I know there are loads of fathers who cant see their kids coz of the mother, But im the one who has to tell him to call his son ever week because his son is getting older... my son gets really upset when he cant speak to his dad or see his dad..

am i right taking him to the CSA or am i just looking into things a bit to much??

Have you sat down with the father and asked him why he won't or can't pay? If he has a valid reason then it's best to try and work things out between the both of you, that way nobody suffers, taking him to the CSA won't help your son at all in the long run, he'll just get caught up in arguments, it'll just make your ex feel trapped, under pressure and will antagonise him, it'll serve no purpose. If he still refuses to stand up to his responsibilities then I don't suppose you have a choice. Ask him to meet you, give him a deadline for regular payments to be set up (say by the end of Sept) and say it's not what you want to do but it may leave you with no other option.
