    Hi there
I going to tell my story if anyone can help or any idea,
I will try to make my story short, since I split with my ex, I had signed over a house to her, and plenty cash and a car, to make sure kids will not suffer for daily support,
I keep contact with my kids everyday, but I live 260 miles away from them, but I still drive long way back to see my kids, now my ex put CSA and make me more difficult or I should say impossible to see them, because I can't afford to go back,

my ex put CSA is because kids are not happy to stay with her, and she enjoy the money I paid through CSA but my kids, she live in a comfortable house which is I signed over to her and comfortable with the money, I live in a rent room and no house, plus I have to pay bills, life is very difficult for me at moment,in another world is very difficult to survive, my ex just want me to die, if any one know how I can stop CSA taking money out of me or any chance can reduce the amount? I am difficult for daily life with my wife and no mention about drive back to see my kids after my ex put CSA on me,
does any idea or how I talk to CSA and any other way?

    with best regards,

I have some experience of what you are talking about, I did indeed sign over our large house to my ex through the threat of if not she would be moving away with the children, and unfortunately it forms no part of the calculation for maintenance unless it was part of the court divorce proceedings tied in with many other things.
Unfortunately and I do feel for you here is that once CSA is in touch it is payable, the only means of reducing the amount is by your ex cancelling it and agreeing to a private arrangement of a lesser amount (sounds unlikely) or you earn less. Maintenance is not means tested, so even if your ex was a millionaire and you earn minimum wage, you would stil be paying the set amount, and it does create difficulties. In terms of the distance that is also difficult, but that can be used in requesting a variation of the amount of maintenance, in that it costs more than £10 a week in travel in order to see the children, which is the first thing to do with the CSA, let them know this and apply for a variation, which will reduce the amount. Unfortunately the CSA is not there for the support of parenting by both parents, but apparently is to protect them from child poverty, which means the concerns of not being able to see your children due to the cost and distance of travel will fall on deaf ears.
I know there may seem to be many unfortunatelys in here, but it would seem applying for a variation is the only means of reducing the amount short of reducing your overall income. I will also say though please take heart in the fact you are certainly not alone in your plight and there are many many more like you, and use various websites for support and strength which can be very helpful ongoing.
    Best of luck

Hi, I have to admit I am no expert in any of this and I am not sure on what the codes are that you refer to. Due to my circumstances I know some of what goes on with the CSA and I can understand your position, but I can not and have not applied for a variation myself, but I do know the travel aspect can be taken into account, all this information is on the CSA website. I had thought that obtaining a variation would be started off by yourself contacting the CSA and providing the details from there for them to calculate the variation amount, and they would be my first point of call.

In terms of the amounts going up, once the figures are set they should stay as scheduled unless there are changes of circumstances that are highlighted to the CSA and this could be yourself informing them or the PWC asking for a re-assessment in the belief that your earnings have changed (usually the belief is in them increasing as it would not be to their benefit should they mention you are earning less). I have not had a review every year in my case and I believe unless there is more than a 5% difference in what you have informed them as to what you actually earned they are not too concerned, but don't quote me on that.

The CSA website does have information on there so maybe that is worth a look and there are websites like I said for posting on, one being afairercsaforall.co.uk and go to the forums, there are others around as well, and there are plenty of people around with knowledge, support and wisdom, also I think one or two posts on here mention some wbesites, but browse through . Whatever happens best of luck.
