...my partner is paying CSA contributions for his two boys and has been for some years. In October he telephoned the CSA to request a review of his payments as his salary has reduced as he no longer works overtime every weekend as his employer has stopped overtime. Despite numerous telephone calls to CSA he is still waiting for them to review his case & have confirmed a month ago that they have lost all his paperwork. They were supposed to contact his employer for further information and when he telephoned this morning they told him they didn't have time to do that now and he would have to speak to his employer himself (he doesn't actually know what information they need as they were extremely unhelpful on the phone).
He has also discovered that his ex wife is now cohabiting with her new partner and phoned the CSA to ask about this today and whether it would affect his monthly payments, the CSA basically said they weren't interested and that it doesn't affect anything. Can anyone tell us if this is true as when he spoke to the CSA before Christmas they said that his payments would reduce if I were expecting a baby, if his ex wife cohabits with her partner or if he has the boys for overnight contact which he is currently trying to arrange through the courts.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
