I split with my partner of 5 years, 5 months ago. We have a 4 year old. I have been paying towards her costs by a mutual agreement.
I have since learned that it is more than likely I am not the father, something that I thought possible but chose to ignore as I thought we would be together forever.
I am on the birth certificate as the father. My question is, if I go to the CSA and have a paternity test done, how do I stand if it turns out I am not the father?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a case with the CSA at the moment?

Not at the moment, but am being hassled by ex always wanting more money. So I thought it might be in my interests to involve CSA, but I still have concerns about being on the birth certificate, if it turns out I am not the father.

If DNA proves you not to be the father then you have no obligation - The csa will have to be paid back for the DNA if you are the Father and will deduct 15% of your net income for the child's care and provision - the csa website's calculator is quite accurate so you can use that to see how much would be taken and if you would be worse or better off financially - the mother can refuse a DNA test but if she does the case is closed too.
