I am self employed and I have only been working on my own since September 08, over the Christmas period has been difficult both last year and this year because there isn't much work. I coldn't pay about half of my bils last month and the CSA was one of them! They have now sent me a letter with big red writing on the top saying ENFORCEMENT! I called them and said I will find the missed payment from somewhere and I was sorry and lets just carry on with agreement we had. The lady on the phone was cold to say the least and she said you will have to pay more every month to get rid of your arears in two years and the debt will be going in for a liability order regardless. I said if I was struggling with a lesser amount how do you expect me to pay more. She said well you can pay what you want but then we would still likely take action, in otherwords baliffs, loss of driving liceance, prison. She couldn't confirm if they would she just said they might and it was her team that would decide. I tried calling to speak to someone else and they just put me through to another woman on her team porbably sits right next to her! She was very rude and said that everyone on her team would tell me the same thing and there was nothing I could do! I thought great if the're in charge of whether they take futher action I'm f**ked! She made me feel like a criminal and that there was no help for me so I've been googleing every key word I can think of in hope to find someone who knows something that can help me in this situation.
