dont want the csa for my ex partner

    hi all, 3 weeks ago i applied for csa towards my ex partner when things were very heated between us, we now hav managed to become friends and want to make our own payment agreements with out the csa stress on our backs,as iv heard terrible stories in future refference of what could happen,im on benefits and his working, how can i stop them as iv only just apllied for it, can i say to them its not needed nomore?

    You started the ball rolling so it would be up to you to call off the hounds. If your relationship is as friends without benefits then I would suggest that you keep with the CSA route as at least everybody knows where they stand. This would then mean that if there are any future arguments then this will have no bearing on the maintenance monies for your child.

    Let the CSA do the assessment and then ask to go maintenance direct. This means that they work out what your ex should pay, but don't collect any money.

    You then sort out the payments between yourselves.

    If things don't work out you can ask the CSA to collect the money for you with the assessment already in place.

    Alternatively you can just ask them to close the case.
