Hello, this is the first time on this forum and i was hoping for a little help. Before i met him my partner had a one nite stand 8 years ago, after finding out the girl was pregnant, he asked if the child was his and was told it definately wasn't. (Please bear in mind this girl also had slept with someone else whome my partner knew and was also in a relationship) my partner got on with his life. Now suddenly after 8 years this girl has got the CSA onto my partner, he was forced to have a DNA test and unfortunately the child is his. (it is sad that i have to say unfortunately). Now the CSA want him to start paying maintanence. Morally i think this is wrong and unfair, the CSA are not bothered that this girl chose to deny who the father was at the time, my partner could have enjoyed a relatinship with his daughter of which has been taken away from him. This girl does not work and it seems has always lived (somehow well) on benefits, why does the goverment (or CSA) have the brains to work out that if she had been truthfull 8 years ago, my partner would have contributed towards his daughter thus meaning this girl would not have received as much money in benefits.....is this not classed as fraud? (knowlingly witholding information?) She obviously knew who the father was all along. My partner and I do not know where to go for advice, after speaking to the CSA we got the response, "you don't have a leg to stand on mate". I was wondering if anyone has or knows someone in the same suitation and where they went for help. I accept that he is the father but his responsibilities were taken away by this girl who seemed to have done okay for herself for 8years, he should not be made to pay the maximum. Please help if you can.
