    Dear All

I just have a question and need advises from you, do CSA do the wage assessment every year?
if they do about when the new figure will start to effects on the the monthly maintenance?

my husband have to travel 890 miles everytime to see the children, this is on top of the monthly maintenance,it's really hard to keep up,his ex not even take children to see us not even once, no spend any money as well, we had fill a form to CSA and ask if can get any reduction due to the long travel distance,
do you know if they do the reduction for travelling cost and how many percent they will reduce from the maintenance?

thank you very much and looking forward your help

    with best regards,
    Claire

As a rule the CSA only reassess a case when they are asked to do so by one of the parties in the case. There is no annual reassessment as such.

You can ask for a variation form for the travel costs. The cost will be based on the mileage and how often the journey is made. It is then converted to a weekly figure and deducted from the net income before the maintenance is calculated.

However, you won't get all the travel costs. It needs to be above a certain amount per week, before you can claim.

    thank you Big Gaz

it was just yesterday, my husband got the text from his daughter said, his ex going to put money on food and stuff for the summer holiday, also will take her to train station for us to collets kids,

I guess she must be received the letter from CSA( we had asked CSA if can reduce the travle cost), and now I think she going to play game like she put effort on the travle costs or so,then let us fail to ask reduction for maintenance,
his ex never put a penny on anything when we go to pick kids up, not even move a finger, so why now she going to put money?

do you think she is going to play trick again?

    with best regards,

    C.

If you filled in a variation form, then your husband's ex will have been contacted as she needs to confirm that the visits take place.

Maybe she thinks you will withdraw the claim if she make more effort.

Will her actions result in less cost for you?

    Hi Claire,

It's difficult to say without knowing the people involved. If she is making a contribution that saves you money then that's good. But it needs to be all the time.

I'd wait and see what the result of your application is and what your case worker makes of the situation.

    Hi Gig Gaz

thank you for your reply, we still not get any reply from CSA yet(after my husband make many calls to them), now the children's mother play a trick, she said she going to put my step daughter travel along by train( she is 12), is this legal?

now another saying from her is she might consider to take her to us(only once),
I think she just want to screw our application up:( what do you think?
everyday we are suffering from CSA and his terrible ex, I feel like we live under his ex's shadow:(

    with best regards,
    Claire

It sounds like she's trying to complicate things.

Be persistent and if you aren't getting call backs from the CSA then make a complaint.
