    Hi all,
New to the forum so all advice would be appreciated. After having a private agreement with my ex for 3 years i stopped paying as my daughter had left full time education and was worrking +/- 20 hrs a week.
Moving on from that my ex has now split from her partner with whom she had a son and my daughter has started college again, although part time. I've been contacted by someone from who i suspect is the CSA as they were very cagey and determined to get my details with out telling me who they were.
I've been self employed for 5 yrs now as a LTD company taking dividends and a monthly wage, since the call i have re-set up my direct debit to my ex as at least this will help to cover any arrears that i might incur in the time it takes them to get round to sending out there paper work etc.
How much info can they gain from the HMRC? and are dividends taken into account?,also i was asked for my bank details over the phone do they have the power to approach my bank and take money as they see fit??.
I'd rather pay by private agreement rather than have the CSA involved in my life again!

This sounds a bit dodgy. If it was the CSA,they should have said so. I'd give them a call back to check.

What sort of college is your daughter at? You will only be liable if she is in non advanced full time education, ie anything up to A-level or equivalent.

If was the CSA then they will ask for wage slips, as you're an employee of your own company. They will only ask for dividends if your ex applies for a variation.

New laws are about to come into force allowing direct deductions from bank accounts, but these will only be used in extreme circumstances. They will normally send you a standing order.

If you'd rather pay by private agreement you can suggest this to your ex or to the CSA and get them to raise it with her. The CSA does the assessment in this case, but the payment of money you arrange between yourselves.

    Cheers for the reply.
I did offer to pay may ex what i was paying before, but she is looking for £450 min!!. At least this time i should be on the newer scheme, she might even be better of with what i did offer.
I suppose now that i've re-set the direct debit up and will be paying before the CSA send out the paperwork' at least i can prove payments and hopefully they shouldn't harras me.
