I'm new to this and really hope someone can help. My daughter is 21 this year, I have always paid my CSA contrributions apart from when I was unemployed about 15 years. How can I owe them all this money? I've been battling with the CSA for the last 15 years on 2 points. One that the weekly maintenance used to change constantly one week £65 next week £5.5 although my wage never altered ! and the second their statements did not tie up with my wage slips.
I got with my current partner 10 years ago and she took the battle on for me, she has over 8 A4 folders of all correspondence/notes of conversations with the CSA over this period. After her refusal to give up and telling the CSA there had to be a problem with my employer it transpired that even though my employer had deducted my wage and this was shown on my wageslip they hadnt paid this to the CSA. My employer (past as I handed my notice in as soon as I found out) admitted under oath to the CSA investigators he had done this yet blamed his accountant. His accountant denied all knowledge my employer paid the missing money from 2008- 2009(circa £2000) and CSA closed the matter and started chasing me again.
I've pointed out that from 95 - 2007 there is still missing money, for some reason the CSA cannot understand this. We've since found out that as there was a DEO on the account, I never understood the implications of this which was as a result of an ongoing dispute with my ex 15 years ago (she refused to allow me to see my daughter I refused to pay her until I could,) the onus was on me to ring the CSA and ensure that my employer had sent the money to them. If everyone in the country did that they wouldnt get any work done and where do they tell you have to do this!
Now I'm being told that I have to pay this money to them £10,652.30 to be precise its been suggested from employees of the CSA I get loans/credit cards to pay them the money. Since when were they regulated by the FSA to give financial advice to people!
I want my day in court, CSA have cancelled the court proceedings on 3 occasions to do further investigations, only for me to receive a letter 12 months down the line starting court proceedings again.
At this time in my daughters life I hoped to be able to help with a deposit for her first home, at this rate I may lose my own home over this.
To add insult to injury my daughter moved in with me when she was 14 and her mother never had to pay a penny and to this day I still dont know why.
Has anyone got any advice/suggestions
