I hope someone can help me with my current situation :(

I had an ex turn up on my doorstep, 9 months pregnant telling me It was mine. I offered the maintenance...but being the money grabbing cow she is, she declined and decided to take the CSA route. Im an electrical engineer and unfortunately...work is very up and down for someone in my trade with the current economical climate.

I was in informed by my boss that as I was the last in I was going to either be laid off, or have my hours cut dramatically. I obviously opted for the hour cut since id struggle finding another job.

Now I informed the CSA of this, the did a review of my previous 5 payslips and calculated the amount which ive paid every month as a direct debit since March.

Ive just received a phone call saying that in April my ex had requested a review of my income and its obviously now coming to light.

My issue is that during that time..I had a good few weeks and managed to get 25+ hours a week in....now im getting a day if Im lucky. The csa have told me they need my 5 payslips from that time and theyll calculate what I owe and then re-evaluate me on my current earnings.

I cant afford to pay 15% of what I earnt in August now as I havent even had any work this week yet they dont seem to care about that.

I don't know what else I can do other than leave my job and sign on???

Obviously my weeks are very much up and down so Im hardly going to ring them every week to say ive earnt more/less this week. And since they wont take my living expenses into account, I dont really see any option for me??

How many times are they allowed to evaluate my earnings?

    any help is much appreciated?

Maybe... If you had 2 jobs one that earns your main wage and one that earns a smaller one, Pizza delivery or bar work, Declare the later and not your main wage, The csa will only look into the one you declare, However do not let your ex discover this or she will get it re-assessed as often as she wants.
