I am a mother whos children live with their father. I am paying maintenance for the 2 youngest (eldest 2 have now left school). I am just wondering, my new husband has been informed by his ex that she has been in contact with the CSA. Can the CSA take payments from his wages for his children while taking money from mine to pay for my children? I hope this makes sense!!!

In short, the answer is YES they can. they should however look at all income, housing costs and you should provide all information along with if and when you care for the children on visits.
They will take a % of his wages but you must inform them if you do not agree and proved all eveidence to support your objections, housing costs. Also if your new husband is currently paying maintainance make sure he pays by Direct Debit and not cash in hand which is harder to prove unless he gets a receipt, they may take this as a gift if the ex states so. No way out of paying but keep all corresondence, take names of who you speak to and which deparmtent (they have to give their name)most of all and very very important keep a diary of all this, you may need it in the future.

    Hi Dustie

You are given the wrong info here are you working for CSA

You have not asked this lady very important facts first before you have given this advice.

Why are you telling this person to make sure to pay by DIRECT DEBIT you are telling this person to leave himself open to the CSA. HMMMMMMMMMMM. Interesting.

Where are you getting your info from.
