Both my children are now adults of 25 and 27 years of age so there is no ongoing child maintenance case. However, I still owe arrears of £2043 which I am paying at £40pm.
I asked them to whom I owed the arrears and they informed me that I owed the arrears to my ex-wife and not to the treasury.

I have contacted my ex and offered her a cash payment of £500 which she would get as a final one off payment on the basis that she requests the CSA to close the account. She has agreed to this but I need some advice on how to proceed?

Can my ex-wife have the case closed if she requests it?
Do I need a signed agreement?
Will I need a solicitor or actuary to witness the signed agreement?
Once payment has been made to her, how do I ensure that the CSA will have no rights or power over me again?

Thanks in advance for any replies
