    Hi all,
    I'm requiring some advice please.

I am on the new CSA system of 15% for my one son.

I happily pay maintenance for my son at £262 per month. I had a letter 3 weeks ago from the CSA asking me to provide my pay slips from March/April this year for a review. I sent the info back return of post. Last night I had a phone call from the CSA, they were wanting to discuss the payment of arrears on my account. I explained to the woman I should have no arrears as I had sent the details back immediately. She then went on to tell me there had been a problem with the computer system, so the request for my pay slips had been sent out late, but they wanted to back date the order leaving me in over £300 of debt.

So not only have they up'd my payments but they want me to pay these arrears back as well. This is going to leave things fairly tight.

A supervisor is phoning me back on Wednesday this week (11 nov)

I guess the question is: can the CSA back date my payments beyond the request for information date?

My next question is: how much is my protected income? Is it the same for us all? Or how can I work it out?

And lastly. I have recently re-married, I have not told the CSA for fear that they may penalise my wife for being with me. Would they want to see my partners pay details if they were aware?

Thank you all so very much in advance for your advice.

i dont know all the answers to your questions but i can tell you with good authority and from my brothers experience, that if the csa find out that you now have a wife that is earning they will want to know the amount, and will take her income into account when working out the amount that you will have to pay,i have just given up my job of 15 years as it is no longer worth me working,we also want to get married but cant due to the situation i have explained,so we are having a pagen wedding which will be the same as a wedding but not legally binding in such cases as this.

If you are on the system of percentage, 15% for one child, 20% for 2 etc, then your wifes income is NOT taken into account...!
