Right, I have been paying the CSA since my soon to be ex wife claimed. I wanted to make a private agreement but she insisted on CSA. At the time, I had discovered I had been overpaid by my employer so the wage slips that the CSA wanted were going to be incorrect. I spoke to them about this and they advised that they still needed them but they would take it into consideration. We split in August and she claimed in November. As soon as they requested the info I provided it. However, in June, I was advised I would have to pay arrears. I spoke to a colleague of mine and he was shocked by how much I was paying - they were taking everything they could however they hadn't taken into account the change in my wages that I had previously advised them of so I have been struggling to survive. I have spoken to them in the hope that potentially this overpayment would reduce the arrears and they've basically told me tough luck. I am still trying to pay arrears back but feel that I have overpaid. When I query this, they will not confirm or deny. Any ideas as to what I can do with this? I obviously don't want to see my kids without and would always pay but I feel like I am being taken for a mug right now and can't afford to live!
