I have been having nightmares with the CSA for the last 7 years. I recieve a clean schedule (no arrears) around the end of November each year for ATE. Every 18 months to 2 years I then get an updated schedule telling me I have arrears!!! At present the amount of £212.00 is taken from pay every 4 weeks and sent to another office in Dudley, then to Newcastle and finally reaches my ex wife a month later (they pay her a month in arrears, I found out). My updated schedule (30/01/12)with some £850.00 arrears, informs me I have to pay £424.00 each pay day for the next 4 months. This works out 4 missing payments, when you talk to them on the phone and ask how these arrears have accumulated they tell you to put it in writing as the "case worker" is not available to tell you why. I was told my alleged arrears had been "suspended until now". This gets more and more stressful as each time this happens and I never ever get the truth from them. I have just put a letter together and a copy of payments made by my payroll office to send to them in Belfast. Let you know how I get on.

It will be joining the letter that I have just typed up then, only ours has gone to Birmingham. Thats another thing they keep changing the office.

So discraceful, it really is. We have had the same in the past, they just add a bit on here and a bit on there. My husband changed jobs and it took them 4 months to set the payments back up (he owed 4 payments - one for each month), but how come the arrears amount to over 1 extra month's payment.

They told him just before he changed jobs that he had overpaid some money due to the amount of time he has his child stay with us. Guess what, when they set the payments back up they ommitted the overpayment but added some ficticious arrears. They even added a paragraph in saying that he had underpaid at some point so that was added in too. How could he have underpaid if they set up a DEO and decided upon the amounts to be paid.

Another trick they perform is in one part of a letter they talk in months and in another part of the letter they talk in weeks. Purely to add even more madness and confusion to the mix.

They are a bunch of scumbags and just make it up as they go along.

Telling them how much you've paid is not really the issue. You need to ask them , in writing, for a statement of account, for the period in question or for the duration of the claim. This will show the weekly assessment they have worked out and will also plot the payments you have made. Once you have this, you can check it out and dispute their calculation if you think there is an error. You will need evidence to corroborate you claim.

I have sent my complaint and requested a "statement of account" today with documentry evidence of my payments made through my paybills. My company have also got involved and have sent a letter in reference to my well being because of their constant errors. Hope this gets some response from those "buggers". This is the kindest word I have called these cretins!!!

    Get rid of the CSA
