Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on the above matter.
I use to be on JSA and use to pay £5 child maintence a week.
However, in recent events ive managed to get myself a job. CSA have sent me a new shedule out and apparently im in nearly a £1000 child maintence arrears? apparently my csa claim started in Sept'06 but they never recieved any form of child maintence payment from me/jobcentre till Jan' 08.
Now im sure you know full well as me if i went 18months without paying child maintence they would have been on my back trying to get money off me. I was never notified they "wasnt" recieving this off the jobcentre.
Im in utter shock because ive been paying child maintence from day one and because i am 100% sure the jobcentre use to take this £5 a week out of my jsa i phoned the job centre up today and asked them can they tell me the date they started taking child maintence out of my JSA money. They confirmed they started taking childmaintence money off me from June 2006.
So they are now sending me a letter out confirming this.
So my question is....where do I stand now and what shall i do? I have a letter on it way from jobcentre stating when they started deducting Child Maintence from my JSA which covers the 18months where the CSA say they never recieve any money.
What are my rights regarding these arrears?
