My daughter reached 19 in March 2008. I received a letter from the CSA the same month saying i owed £1680.00 in arrears which i agree but ignored and didn't pay.
This week i received a letter saying i now owed £2012.00. I called and asked them to explain where the difference came from and the answer was they had no recolLection of the former amount and i owed the £2012.00. They also have no records of any payments i made since 2000 and I HAVE TO PROVE i made the payments. I think i can do this with bank statements.Their system is so messed up that if i do prove my missing payments, they will actually OWE ME £2000.
My question is, can they re-assess me retrospectively with a chance of me owed £1000's or should i just pay the £2012.00 and draw it to a close?
I appreciate i've been incredibley lucky compared to some but if there's a chance to screw the CSA for a change it'll be well worth it !!
