Hi Charley

If he's refusing to give you anything then, as much as it pains me to say this, you should contact the CSA. I think they would take any grant he received into account, but don't think student loans would count. It's worth trying them anyway as they'll at least give him something to think about, other than studies and other student activities.

I really need some advice so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Currently i am 17 weeks pregnant with my first child. I live at home with my parents and earn roughly £800 a month. I was with the father of my baby for 3 and a half years, but he walked out when he found out i was pregnant. He does not want anything to do with me or the baby again, and i think he seems to think he will not have to pay anything towards the costs.

The problem is, that he is currently in his second year at university. His parents own and run a very successful company and i know they are funding the whole of his studies, howeever he does have a student loan which he spends on clothes, drinking and socialising etc. It angers me greatly to think that i will not be entitled to any money from him whilst he is at university as i know he would have the money available.

I just wondered if any one had any idea whether he would be made to pay even a tiny amount of money each month? Or whether he would get off scott free? To be honest it's not even the money im after, its the principle. How someone can think they can just walk away from their own child and not have to think twice seriously upsets me. Any advice on whether i should even bother to contact the CSA would be greatly appreciated.
