HI

I have been fighting with the CSA for 10 years now for payments for my son. My ex husband has left jobs to dodge his responsibilities, gone undercover so he can't be found etc. The CSA seem to have little power to find him.

He now owes over £9,000 and left his job again 8 mths ago. The CSA have just caught up with him and he says he is unemployed and has no income coming in. I know this is rubbish as he has a mortgage and other children to support but the CSA take his word for it and will not question what he says!

Yet again my son misses out!

This system that the CSA have is Unethical and I want to challenge it with the support of parents fighting for their children. I need strong backing from everyone who is having trouble from Non Resident parents that are dodging their responsibilities regarding paying for their children; be them male or female.

If you have a CSA story please email me telling me your experience with the CSA. Please include your name and address( I may need to contact you) . If I can get enough evidence from people detailing how incompetent the CSA is I will contact my local MP and campaign to change the system. PLEASE BACK THIS CAUSE FOR THE SAKE OF ALL THE CHILDREN WHO ARE MISSING OUT!

If anyone is interested in doing this with me please let me know. The more of us involved in this the better. I know how stressful dealing with the Child Support Agency is. Its 2012 and the agency is still as incompetent as when it started!

If people are committing benefit fraud they face consequences. If people are not financially supporting their children they can walk away - this isn't right!

PLEASE EMAIL ME YOUR EXPERIENCES THAT YOU HAVE HAD WITH THE CSA (please include your name and address)

Stop the CSA from creating NRP and NRPP financial hardship and poverty

Responsible department: Department for Work and Pensions

The CSA/ CMEC are responsible for creating financial hardship and poverty to the NRP and NRPP and their children. They take so much money with no regard to other financial responsibilities. They also take some of the child tax credit from the NRP and their family. The CSA/ CMEC are creating poverty they rob Peter to pay Paul. Fairer and sensible, reasonable affordable, child maintenance payments must be negotiated with the NRP. A fairer system must be installed and prevention of the PWC using the CSA/ CMEC as a tool of vindication and a cash cow.

My partner's former wife has written to the CSA making sweeping allegations/accusations in respect of myself. Basically she is saying that my partner is supplementing his income by paying his wage through my PAYE, this is not correct and can be proved. His former wife also states that I run my mobile phone through my partner's business, which is not correct and can also be proved. His former wife goes on to make many more poisonous allegations/accusations, all of which are unsubstantiated and untrue.

I know that my income bears no relevance on the CSA calculation, but is it possible for me to complain about the PWC in respect of her accusations/allegations, and can I prevent myself from being dragged into the matter.

I have tried to obtain information in respect of complaining from the CSA website, but unfortunately the only information I can locate is in respect of complaining about the CSA's service.

Hi,
I thought if the child worked then they were classed as supporting themselves ? Im not sure regards if Child benefit is still payable if they work either .Like I said the PWC wants me and has had me paying direct this is becuase maybe the assessment would be lower if it went through th CSA? My sons course finishes in July whether they enroll for another couse after that I dont know but they are working and getting an income too .

From what I have read on csa website and i'm new to this you may be eligable to pay up till an age of 20 yrs if:
the child is in education but no higher than A level

I don't see anything to suggest you would not have to pay if the child in question is working

Hi,
Any advice helpful.Ive paid maintenance for years .I pay direct to the PWC however the child is almost 18 and in further non advanced education. I have been told the PWC works and so does my child this has been going on for some time.Ive always paid the same amount which is a large amount. Even when my child hit 16 i carried on the same amount .However after years of being just a pay cheque im sick.Should my payments stop if my child is working ? Im not sure how mamy hours that they work though or even if they pay tax .

I thought I would put my side of the story on here as it seems to be mostly NRPs venting about the CSA getting their side of things wrong. I do both sympathise and empathise with everyone who has to deal with the administrative nightmare that is the CSA, but I also think that there are some NRPs that make getting maintenance payments virtually impossible.

Our situation is that my step child lives with us, and has no contact with his mother. This is for two reasons - one was the choice of my step child, the other was the complete lack of contact from the NRP. She seems to be under the impression that gives her the right not to pay, an attitude that I don't really understand as the last time I checked, it was not my responsibility to pay for someone else's child. Of course, this sounds very harsh and of course I am happy to do it as I have come to be the 'real' mother in this situation but frequently become unhappy when I think about what she is getting away with.

To publish the catalogue of problems we have had, both due to her unwillingness to cooperate and mistakes made by the CSA would take far too long, but I can safely say that although involving one's MP certainly speeds up certain processes, it does not resolve the situation if the NRP is using delaying tactics.

I really don't know what to do anymore. Our regular payment is base rate, and the arrears that she owes us, which amounts to somewhere in the region of £2,000 is being paid off at a rate of roughly £3 per month. You don't have to be a genius to work out that that will take a vast amount of time to clear. Luckily, we don't need the money, but we are entitled to it so I think the fact that we don't rely on it is entirely irrelevant; there may come a time when we do need that amount of money. If we were a credit card company, we'd be able to use the courts and solicitors to recover the debt. Unfortunately we don't have the time or resources to do that, coupled with the fact that this is supposed to be what the CSA can do, yet two years down the line, we are still waiting for a liability order to be granted.

I just wanted to let people know that PWCs cannot always 'do what they like' or 'get away with murder'. Sometimes it is those NRPs who have no emotional, physical or financial input that get off relatively unscathed. And if she was really that bothered about seeing her child, I'm sure she'd make some kind of effort.
