Ex claimed CSA for children who are not mine!

May 21, 2012

The CSA have been taking money from my wage for 3 years, for a daughter I had with my first wife. These payments should have stopped in April last year when she turned 18. My first wife then claimed for 2 other children who I am not the father of. I am paying £499.99 a month for what is in my mind a fraudulant claim.

The CSA has not contacted me they have just deducted money from my wage. As a result my second wife has now left me with 4 children who i am the father.

You pay maintenance while the child is in full time non advanced education so I take it the eldest daughter was not in education once she was 18.

The other 2 children – how has that managed to happen? I take it you are not on Birth Certificates or legally adopted the children? If you are not the father then the CSA should not be taking money from you. Get in touch with your MP to get it sorted out.

I can sympathise with your 2nd wife. Financially to take a hit like that not alot of parents/families can afford. Me and my partner are in a similar situation and in all honesty it is hell. It is also ridiculous that any Government allows this to happen.

CS stops when the child gets to 19th birthday..if child benefit is still being claimed.Unless your daughter is claiming a benefit herself or working then you should not be paying anything.Write to the CSA and tell them that you are not prepared to pay for children that are not yours(absolute madness).Stop this payment now ,but make sure you sort out the above first. It could be you are still paying for your 18 year old.My exs daughter is 19 in October but starts a job in June so CS stops a week after this.It is a shame that this couldnt be sorted before it got as far that your 2nd wife decided enough was enough.
