CSA Bolton is a disgrace

July 12, 2010

My daughter’s “father” is what is known as a job hopper by the CSA and yet they do nothing to speed up their change of circumstance process in order to minimise and reduce the benefits of evading payment. My ex has only ever paid £1000 of a £9000 arrears since 1998 in the meanwhile he’s continued to father children all over the place!

Unfortunately for me my case is clerical and “processed” in Bolton, (I know you feel my pain)! In any case it has taken 5 months to process a CoC and submit a DoE! My ex-partner simply leaves his place of employment when he gets a whiff the CSA are on his tail again. He owes over £8000 (which I am unlikely to ever see). My daughter is 20 years old but I refuse to give up. It’s only right that Dead Beat Dads should provide for their children. It’s not like I frog marched him to bed with a gun at his temple! He and his chav family refused to have anything to do with my daughter when she was born and he only saw her for the first time when she was 7 years old but still never supported her emotionally or financially. He likes the title “dad” but never quite lives up to it. In fact he’ll leave paid employment in order to avoid paying maintainence to her. Like you, I refuse to give up. I did it on my own for 19 years I’m sure I can go for another 19!

As for CSA Bolton…THEY OUGHT TO BE SHUT DOWN! How dare they consider themselves competent enough to manage cases? They couldn’t manage their way out of an open door! AS you probably already know, they are a private complany contracted by the CSA to process clerical CSA cases. THEY DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CHILD. Instead they employ incompetent, pre-pubescent, dregs from the bottom of the gene pool, to assess cases and make important decisions regarding people’s lives and that’s if you’re lucky, if not, your case is resigned to a filing cabinet never to experience the light of day ever again.

I’ve just found out, following numerous complaints and intervention from my MP, that my case is being transferred to Falkirk! Hooraah!

My ex has a comittal hearing in a few months and will have to explain why he has left employment once again. He would be within his rights to respond “because I can, your Honor”, considering the lack of serious attempt to obtain funds from DBD’s, made by that complete debacle, otherwise known as the CSA!

Now my case has been transferred from Bolton, I have no guarantee that my case will have a successfull outcome but at least I now have a fighting chance. Although I am by no means at the end of the road, my advice to anyone suffering in the hands of the CSA (especially CSA Bolton) is to complain, complain, complain, to anyone who will listen, in particular your M.P. It’s about time the problems with CSA were addressed once and for all.

I’ll keep you updated about the committal hearing when it happens. I hoping it will have a postive outcome, (either payment of the arrears or he’ll be picking up soap in the shower cubicles for the next six weeks)!

I had to deal with Bolton too and my case was clerical so know the problems!

I hope they do use committal proceedings now because a few years back when they asked for committal for my ex, he produced fake payslips showing he earnt hardly anything and the Judge accepted them even though the CSA told the court he was self employed and had been for years!! Even when I gave the evidence (after the court date) that it was fraud, he was never taken back to court for this. Good Luck. Please join the facebook groups Child Support Agencies Failings and others, they have advise/support etc on there.

    No. No. No.

Prison is completely inapproprate for people who failt to pay CM. You cant be sent to proson for faiing to pay your credit card bill or indeed abandoning your children to the state. Why should the law alow this for CM? It’s wrong!

Prison is to punish people who are a danger to society.

all the pwc seem to think about is how much money they can get off their ex husbands & how much they will have to go out get there hair done etc, why dont they go out & get a job with all the benifits they are entitled to these days they forget one thing the nrp as to live & the csa & pwc seem to want to get as much money as they can & it does not matter if we lose our homes etc, as long as the pwc gets enough money to keep their home the csa is a shambles & your right ( brokenfather above ) we are not criminals we are human beings,so stop treating us like it
i was told today after a conversation with the csa that i was thinking of packing my job in as the payments and arrears they want off me was leaving me with no money left a month at all, they said well if you do that we will send it to court & then the bailiffs will be round to your home!! i said is that a treat she said no but thats what i will do. BLACKMAIL !!!!! TREATS!!! they can cos all the stuff in our house is owned by my new wife & this is not her responsibility so they cant take anything >

I know what its like to go without and try and raise 3 young children and they dont run on fresh air. They are expensive and why should they suffer. I personally dont care about what happend to the nrp I just care about my children and yes going to your MP in my opinion is the only way to resolve CSA matters especially at clerical bolton.

I think that Children should be paid for i agree completely. What I dont agree with is certain women beating their drums wanting the heads of everyone who is involved in giving them the money to go out and throw it all away on stuff that 9 times out of 10 is not even for the children. The CSA are a bunch of guns for hire and do not care about anyone ….the people in the call centres are Pond life and patronising. I understand why so many people choose to stick thier fingers up to the Csa whaen ex partners have lied about circumstances and such like, even to the exten,t in my case, of sending 3 and 1/2 years of bank statements with the exs name in black and white monthly as a standing order for payment and they still chose to ignore it taking 40% of my wage for nearly 2 years ….where is the justice this department should be shut down and all the scrounging scrat bags who claim false benifits just to try and get one over on some one should take a long hard look in the mirror….you disgust me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also have the misfortune of having my sons case in Bolton. I have brought my son up on my own for nearly 18 years and have not received a penny. I have no interest in what some men might think of me because it isnt about me. My sons self employed ‘father’ has skipped his responsibilities for to long. Yes there are men out there who do the right thing by their kids and yes there are women out there who are only interested in themselves i am not one of them Im sick of being tarred with the same brush as these women. I did not make my son on my own so his useless dead beat ‘father should be held accountable for his failings.

I am glad to hear I am not alone and feel the same way about Bolton as you all do!!
This office is an absolout disgrace and they are so incompetent!! It took them over a year to sort a change of circumstance which has resulted in my partner owing over 4000k which has still not been paid because he has now managed to flee the country. The case was transferred to Falkirk and was sorted out in weeks, they done a great job keeping me up to date and resolving the matter urgently, However now my case is back at Bolton and guess what?? The same delays are happening, not with a change of circumstance – but with them collecting payments… I phone all the time and nobody calls me back, no case worker is allocated, they dont know whether my case is in debt collections or where it, and yesterday they thought there was another change of circumstance but werent sure!! Incompetent, untrained, impatient, unconsiderate people!!!

I am a father who pays a significant amount in child maintenance, has never been late with a payment, yet have been hounded by these people. Forced to have the money taken out of my wages. Reassessed every few months based on phantom change of circumstances.

No sympathy. You should try being on this side of the fence – there is no escape. It makes life too hard sometimes.

  9. Tim on December 17th, 2010 9:35 am

Oh, and my ex-wife abandoned our eldest (disabled) son with social services 18 months ago, so he’s been with my parents who have applied for custody.

Yet she still gets legal aid to fight them & me since giving up her job, presumably just so she could keep the huge spousal maintenacne (huge because she had a disabled son) she gets in addition to CSA money. its now cost me £35,000 in legal fees and I havent event been to final trial.

She works cash in hand so she doesn’t have to pay a penny in CSA money to my parents and they can or wont do anything about it. This is the same person who is probably complaining to her friends that I am trying to reduce her money.

No matter how ineffecient Bolton are, mothers have it easy. Trust me. Fathers have to fight so much harder just to get treated unfairly.

Rubbish. All of it. The family law and CSA system needs tearing down.

  10. Tim on December 27th, 2010 5:37 pm

Just so all you mothers can be proud of a fellow “CSA sister” here is her response in August 08 after abandoning 7 year old Hugo strapped in his wheelchair at Social Services – after which I took him to my parents – and then being asked to contribute to the cost of his upcoming school year.

I have had to pay her the full amount ever since, given it has taken 18 months to get to final trial because of the pathetic apology of the family court system. Oh, and in between then and now, I’ve also been accused of sexually abusing my younger son, which meant a hiatus of 6 months, in amongst all the other interruptions of contact.

    “Dear Ms XXX

My current financial package for the boys and its division is the subject of negotiation and disclosure by Mr Y of his financial position and in the hands of my solicitor .
My personal substantial part of the maintenance is just that, for myself ,and not for either of the children.

As stated this morning my financial position has greatly decreased due to loss of of benefits and significant financial hardship has now been placed upon the household in which my other son Z still resides.

Until such times as a settlement for child maintenance for Guy is reached either through the CSA or mediation which will indicate the level of mr Y’s financal responsibility I am unable to offer any payment to Mrs Y from this months maintance.

With reference to the purchasing of clothes for Z2, parental responsibility is I believe in this instance a right not an obligation, indeed my understanding is that under law the obligation falls upon the carer not the parent,in this case being at the present time Mrs Y.

I look forward to our meeting on the 28 of August”

I hope it makes you all feel proud of motherhood. And this, with both children under S.47 plans.

    Marvellous system. Truly marvellous.

Be glad you were born female.

stop trying to scrounge money off people and get your own , you would get the same off the benefits if u didnt off the csa so stop tryin to piss the father off n get on with your life instead of tryin to fuck his up

i no how u feel, as i type i am on the fone to bolton (getting nowhere!!) the last letter i had from them was in 2003 saying my kids dad owed over £3000 and they were going to take £22 a week from him.. no payments were gathered and im still in a vicious cycle with them 7 years later!!!

  13. Nicola Phelps on February 4th, 2011 2:18 pm

I think fathers should go to Prision is they fail to make payments. How dare they think that they can get away with it. and as for saying you cant go to prison if you fail to pay your credit cards or other debts- you can as they pass it on to debt collectors then to bailiffs and then if you still refuse to pay you go to court! so ha ha.
my advice is if you cant afford to pay for you own child then put something on the end of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. mick on April 11th, 2011 2:26 pm

there is good and bad in all walks of life so u get dads who shirk their responsibilities and women who use their children as financial weapons but its usually the dads who do the right thing by their children who come off the worse i split with my ex when my son was 3 he is now 14 ive had him every weekend and all school holidays since then there was times when i couldnt pay her anything and times when i could so inevitabaly the csa were involved when they got involved my wages were being deducted within a week my son now lives with me since 1st january 2011 and it took the csa bolton 14 weeks to stop the payments from my wages and now they say it will take another 12 weeks to make a breakdown of what ive overpaid my case is now what they call clerical and is being handled by the stockport office which is impossible to get a number for so u cant even chase them up its an utter disgrace how these people are being paid taxpayers money to treat the people pay there wages like something nasty that they stepped in if your a white male forget it cause your bottom of the pile

  15. lesley on April 26th, 2011 8:18 am

i had problems with CSA trying to get payments from what i call the sperm donor.i went to local mp.and now i have been getting payments regular as they took him to court, and put a freeze on his house and business which means he cant sell until 11,000 is paid in arrears,if he stops paying in future his passport is getting removed and driver licence removed,so local mp is way to go

If scorned Mothers let fathers see their Children, im sure they would feel more likely to contribute.
Ive just wrote my ex a cheque for £57,000 and havent seen mine for over a year.

when will her pot be half full instead of always half empty.

  17. mary on September 25th, 2012 3:46 am

i really am getting fed up with reading things blasting mothers on benefits and claiming csa, my ex sees my son on a weekly basis, tries to control everything he does constantly (although this is harder to do now he is at school full time), i had not intended on going to csa at all until he went because he has my eldest son (its not even legal, he does it for the money, and he took advantage of the fact i had problems bonding with him after my daughter died…..understandable????), i had been happy with the arrangement we had before this claim, my youngest son is epileptic and on dla, i am his full time carer and am unable to work until his epilepsy is completely controlled which could take another 3 years, i have to be on alert even while he is at school in case he needs to be rushed to the hospital.

there are always circumstances beyond our control on every issue, clerical csa cases are always more difficult however i have had no real problems since the first month until now, it has always been in my account 10 working days after they have taken the money from his wages. this month however there is no sign of it yet, i am not like a lot of mothers u men have been blasting, this money goes on my son, treats for him, clothes for him, shoes for him, food for him. as most of my other money goes on the debts my ex has left me with when he walked out, without this money my son wouldn’t eat. so who is right and who is wrong? if my ex hadn’t left i would never have known about the debts he had run up in my name while i was at work. a job i had to leave to take care of my children in the first place.

before u sit and blast evey mother claiming csa, think about the problems surrounding the reasons why they claimed in the first place. u will get some mothers who do it just for the extra money they can have for nothing but there are others, like me, who have no choice but to claim, children have illnesses or are too young for u to leave with strangers to go to work

Got something to say?
