CSA arresting jobseeker’s allowance

July 31, 2010

My partner has been signing on for the last 8 weeks and so far has not had a penny. Apparantly the CSA have arrested his JSA and the Jobcentre say its out of their juristiction, can they do that?

It’s a struggle for myself on a low income to support both of us as £900 doesnt go a long way after rent bill etc and to top it off my pregnant with my first child, his third, we are literally scrapping at the barrel just to survive. I know he gave his ex £150 per week by cheque for both kids and the house she lives in with the live in bf she moved in within weeks of him leaving is half his, as £50,000 of his inheritance went into it.

She’s a coniving little cow and i hope she gets her karma one day but any advice on what he can do? He doesnt want her getting anything shes not entitled to and we would gladly go for joint custody as he hasnt seen them since january hence why he stopped paying her, why should he pay for children he doesnt see?

Any advice would be greatly appriciated

I thought they were prohibited from taking more than 40% of net income.

All you can do is challange them on it ……
