I have 2 daughters to my ex. We separated when they were 5 and 7 years. He never paid a penny for them except when he was unemployed for a short period of time and this was deducted from him benefits. My kids are now almost 23 and 20 and in the past year i have finally received £35 per week. That is until December when CSA decided that the payments due should be doubled. He has since stopped all payments for my kids. Also my ex partner is liable for another child younger than mine as he entered into a relationship (married her) and had another child. I have spoken to CSA today re payments starting again as no payments since Dec only to be told that as this 3rd child is under 18 years, it takes priority over mine!! How on earth can that be? My kids were here first, they have suffered and done without over many years thanks to their fathers refusal to comply with the order. I fully understand that this child is also entitled to payments from the father but why does that mean mine cannot get what they are entitled to? My kids and I are due in excess of £30k, money we could well do with. I have been passed from pillar to post with the CSA, given incorrect information and pretty much lied to by them. I have given as much information as i could to them and have always responded to any requests for further information. Seems like the nicer you are to this dept then the less you are thought of. I am now going to see a solicitor this week re making a formal legal complaint. I am fed up of hearing about absent fathers/mothers rights, isn't it about time this organisation put the CHILDRENS RIGHTS for quality of life first!!.
