Can he just pay directly?
July 21, 2014
My 18 year old daughter has just started university and is living in halls.
My ex husband has a court order to pay me £350 per month.
He has now decided to pay the money directly to her. Is this allowed and if not what should I do to have the court order enforced?

The money is for your daughter, not you so let her have it. She’s a student and it could really help her so why would you want to keep it?
Why he’s paying for an 18 year old is beyond me as she’s an adult and should be responsible for herself.
Payments stop when the child goes to uni, so in effect payments are being taken by you fraudulently, that’s the law, only kids in college are entitled to csa not people going for a degree
shes not entitled to any if shes in university its not further ed… its higher…..n child benefit is not paid for uni students which is the trigger in enforcement to pay
No cm is paid once qc is in university!
.. If I was him I’d be paying it straight to the daughter anyway! – Her years of wining it up on the welfare would be over ASAP!
dont ignore this as u can b made to pay him bk
shes not entitled to any as a university student child benefit is also not paid to uni students and is the trigger to pay csa
payments stop end of august as she starts in sept no csa payable
Child support end once child go to university so want he paying her is of his own back yous court order well not stand any more
also It called CHILD SUPPORT not ex support its her money not yours
I personally would be telling your ex to stop paying before he takes you back to court for taking payments you haven’t been entitled to, and the law states if a pwc has been overpaid they will now pay back every penny look it up on child benefit and csa,
Its called child maintenance for a reason so if he is paying it to her directly i dont see what the problem is or is it because you have got comfortable with that amount of extra cash a month you have been spending it on yourself? Im not accusing just asking but at least he is paying it plus he ahouldnt be paying child maintenance now your daugther is in uni so lersonally jf he wants to give her that amount of money a month its gonna help her at uni
I would be reporting for benefit fraud simples
She is 18 and not a child so technically he shouldn’t pay any of you but obviously he is just a cash machine to you
The comment he shouldn’t be paying – If he wants to support his child through university good for him i hope both parents are incredibly proud of their child’s accomplishment !! I don’t see any reason he shouldn’t if he wants to offer financial support directly to the child, obviously the PWC does not need the money as the child is not at home so legally he had no obligation ! Children don’t stop requiring parental support at 18 regardless of money ! My parents divorced when I was 11 … I always had access to my dad and feel that is the way it should be for every child ! I wish my children could have that kind of relationship with their father but he moved 300 miles away and started a new family and resigned from his job so they rarely see him. Why does money make some people into complete And utter bitter selfish arse holes and lose sight of what is truly important … THE CHILDREN !!!
Except it love your not getting it anymore sounds like your guttered. Times up for you.
its diff if he wants to support even tho csa can be paid till 20 in uni it stops he may b strugglin to pay but may b ok if he wants to support fine but has NO LEGAL obligation there is student finance available to her…..court order has ended
also dependant upon çourse a lot are bursaried too ive been uni twice
