Can CSA take me to court for arrears over six years?

June 11, 2010

The CSA says I owe £4000+ arrears. These are more than 6 years old, and as far as I know they cannot take me to court because of the six year ruling.

My ex got the house, contents, and car, and all my children are over 21, and left home. The CSA won’t give me the information I wnat about the arrears, they just say my ex wants the money. They are now threatening to take my driving licence, which is my livelyhood, the house and my passport.

Surely there is something I can do?

    Hi brian,

Liability orders sort through the court should be dated NO earlier than 12th July 2000.

The 6 year time limitation does not apply to the agency.
