Asked to pay CSA for grown up sons due to lies from ex

My partner has received a letter saying he owes £2700 in arrears for his 2 sons, from about 10 years ago. His sons are now 20 & 24 and have their own lives and children. My partner had a private agreement with his ex and paid her direct at the time, so does NOT owe this money. The CSA have this on file from his ex but say they cannot close the file unless she tells them to.

She refuses and now the CSA have started an attachment to earnings taking an enormous amount of money from my partners wages leaving us barely enough to live on. I also have 3 children who will now suffer due to this.

    If the mother is lying, you should make a County Court claim against her for what she is claiming from you via the CSA..

    Remember, judgement in the County Court is based on the balance of probabilities and not outright evidence.

    Paul, They cannot do this, easier said than done. Firstly the children involved how are now adults have passed the age of 16, and up to 18 if they decide to stay on at school to do A level's. You also had a private arrangement which is commendable, and this is in your favour. I myself recently went through the same episode. Both my kids are today adults, demanding money from from 12 years ago. I suggest that you contact the CSA and get them to sort it out fast. If they don't contact your MP, with the threat of court action. You will win for this is negligence and harrasment on their part. Coupled with compensation you will have the last laugh.

    When I asked the CSA why do they believe EVERYTHING my ex tells them ? their reply was " WELL IT'S BECAUSE SHE'S THE RESIDENT PARENT " …. :-/

    Same here. They took 26 grand off us in one lump. Saveings all gone. Home going under. Hubby went bankrupt because of his vinditive wife. Greed that is all it is. Useing there children to feather there banks.

    that'sw exactly it, greedy selfishness of the PWC… the money isnt guaranteed to be spent on child…. usually PWC's retail therapy!!!!

    My ex says she has had to watch our daughters suffer 'in poverty'…. while Google Street snapped a picture of her home on the day her new wood burning stove and hardwood floors were delivered (also got all new furniture). I don't care what she has but when she sends my daughters saying they can't afford school uniforms as Mum has to pay electricity and has no more money….

    Hmmmm! It would ring the bells of suspicion to me too….. It's money and the PWC likes to use the child as a withdrawal card to Tax free additional money…. evident; PWC selfish greediness!!!!!! And we are forced to pay Reproduction Tax to the Reproduction Tax Collection Agency inappropriately named as the "Child Support Agency!!!!!!!"
