Are letters from the CSA legally binding?

August 17, 2010

Can anybody tell me if the CSA letters are legally binding. My partner has been paying for his kids since he split up with his ex wife, all arrears have been paid when they said they were owed. We have a letter dated Nov 2008 saying he owes nothing from the past, In April they he says he has £5000.00 arrears, but won’t tell us where they come from. They won’t listen to us even though we have sent copies of these letters. He is on a DOE and would have been not paying for years to get that amount of arrears. CSA are a joke.

Here’s the biggest joke, his ex owes over £2000.00 for the child that lives with us. She has been working over two years and hasn’t paid a penny and now she is appealing on her arrears.

Ask for an account breakdown. If you feel you are not being listened to, ask for a supervisor call.

Got something to say?
